Introducing Anasa Art Lab
Το Πολιτιστικό Κέντρο Αφρικάνικης Τέχνης και Πολιτισμών Anasa εγκαινιάζει για τη νέα σεζόν 2024-2025 τη δημιουργία του Department of Black studies, Arts & histories και με μεγάλη χαρά σας προσκαλεί στις νέες δράσεις και συναντήσεις.
Σκοπός του τμήματος Black studies, Arts & histories, είναι η ανάδειξη του πλούτου του εικαστικού έργου των καλλιτεχνών της Αφρικής και της μαύρης διασποράς από την περίοδο του μοντερνισμού μέχρι και τη σύγχρονη τέχνη. Μια από τις κεντρικές επιδιώξεις αυτού του τμήματος είναι η δημιουργία ενός κέντρου συζητήσεων, συναντήσεων και παραγωγής σκέψης (think tank) γύρω από ποικίλα πολιτιστικά ζητήματα που προκύπτουν μέσα από τα black studies, την τέχνη και τις ιστορίες της. Το εγχείρημα αυτό εμπνέεται και τροφοδοτείται από νέες προσεγγίσεις του πεδίου της ιστορίας της τέχνης στα πλαίσια των διεπιστημονικών συζητήσεων αποαποικιοποίησης, φεμινιστικών και queer σπουδών, αναπλαισίωσης και επαναθεώρησης του δυτικού κανόνα της ιστορίας της τέχνης. Οι παρακάτω δράσεις είναι κάποιες αρχικές, αλλά βασικές, οι οποίες έχουν στόχο να εκκινήσουν έναν κόμβο με άμεσο στόχο να διευρυνθούν και να διανθιστούν οργανικά από την αλληλεπίδραση που θα προκύψει και τις συναντήσεις ανθρώπων που θα συμμετάσχουν ενεργά σε αυτό το κέντρο.
Anasa Art Lab – Συντονισμός από την ιστορικό τέχνης Άννα Παντελάκου
Οι συναντήσεις του Anasa Art Lab είναι σε μορφή ανοιχτών σεμιναρίων και εργαστηρίων με θεματικές από την ιστορία της τέχνης και των εικαστικών κινημάτων της μαύρης διασποράς και χωρών της Αφρικής από την περίοδο του μοντερνισμού ως και τη σύγχρονη τέχνη.
Η βασική δομή των συναντήσεων αυτών είναι οι παρουσιάσεις του εικαστικού έργου των καλλιτεχνών (μέσα από οπτικοακουστικό υλικό) και των ιστοριών τους, καθώς και οι ανοιχτές συζητήσεις.

The Anasa Cultural Centre for African Arts and Cultures launches for the new season 2024-2025 the creation of the Department of Black studies, Arts & histories and is pleased to invite you to join us to the new events and get-togethers.
The aim of the department Black studies, Arts & histories, is to highlight the richness and diversity of the visual arts made by black artists, either from Africa or the black diaspora, from the period of modernism to contemporary art. One of the central goals of this department is to create a centre for discussions, meetings and think tanks on a variety of cultural issues arising from black studies, art and its histories. This project is inspired by and gets constant feedback from current approaches to the field of art history in the context of interdisciplinary debates on decolonization, feminist and queer studies, reframing and revisiting the western canon of art history. The following actions are some initial, but essential, actions that aim to launch a hub with the immediate goal of being expanded and organically interspersed by the interaction that will emerge and the meetings of people who will actively participate in this hub.

One Friday per month, at 19.00-21.00 (the subjects are announced continuously)
The meetings of Anasa Art Lab are in the form of open seminars and workshops on topics from the history of art and art movements of the black diaspora and African countries from the period of modernism to contemporary art.
The basic structure of these meetings is presentations of the artists’ visual work (through audiovisual material) and their stories, as well as open discussions.
