Narration, melodies and songs will be used as triggers which will either be brought from the participants or will be available during the workshop in to highlight topics for discussion.<\/p>\n The workshop will empower those who love to write but do not dare to capture thoughts, ideas, stories, and dreams. It will encourage the creation of texts and the opportunity will be given (if the creators choose it) to share their work, during the workshop, where experiences, reflections on gender issues will emerge which will strengthen the techniques that help to liberate the imagination for writing. *During the workshop will be a photographer<\/em><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n Resume of the artist <\/p>\n The organizations hosting us in Mytilini <\/p>\n Lesvos Solidarity<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Lesvos Solidarity which operates in PIKPA, an open refugee camp in Mytilini, Lesbos (Greece), which provides humanitarian aid to the most vulnerable refugees, such as families with children, pregnant women, refugees with special needs, refugees suffering from serious health problems and shipwreck victims who they lost their loved ones at sea. It offers on-site medical care, psychological assistance, legal support, food, clothing and personal hygiene items. Also makes external referrals for medical care (such as to hospitals, private clinics, etc.)<\/p>\n The organization also organizes activities for children, foreign language classes and provides social support. Although Lesvos Solidarity supports refugees during their asylum application process, it does not participate in the process related to their registration. In addition, a small group of Solidarity Lesvos supports the refugees on the southern coast of Lesvos, when they arrive on the island from Turkey, after crossing the Aegean Sea.<\/p>\n It develops actions of solidarity and public awareness for refugees and for local people. To encourage solidarity and understanding it has developed and expanded integration and education programs for both refugees and the local community. The result was the creation of the “Mosaik” Support Center in the center of Mytilini, Lesvos, where language and art courses are held, as well as workshops that develop professional skills for both refugees and locals.<\/p>\n One of the most important integration and training programs launched by Lesvos Solidarity is the Safe Passage-Bag Workshop. This is a recycling project where refugees and locals living in Mytilini make bags. \nThe goal of this interactive writing and poetry workshop is to get in touch with ourselves, regardless of social or other limitations, and to realize that the body has a voice too. We will discuss about gender theory. We will refer to the definitions given and express our opinion, seeing in practice whether our answers are in tune with our daily epereinces.
\nSome questions discussed will be the following:
\nHow would we define gender if we could?
\nHow do we see gender and how does everyone express themselves individually?
\nHow fluid or not is gender?
\nAre we putting obstacles in the way we think and the way we show expression with our bodies ?
\nThe role of the society and the conflict with our social\/biological sex.<\/p>\n
\nOur workshop is self-contained and addressed to all genders and nationalities.
\nAll actions are implemented free of charge, participations over 16 years old. Aiming to enrich participants’ knowledge on issues related to gender identities, gender-based violence, rape culture, consent and the promotion of healthy interpersonal relationships.<\/p>\n
\nGloria Nzanga<\/strong> (Greece-Congo): Is a self-taught creative writer, a member of the queer community, a physical therapist assistant and a track and field athlete. She writes poems, rap lyrics and creates texts for spoken word events and slam poetry nights. She has developed her talent for creative writing and storytelling through the need to express herself and her poems spring from stimuli she receives from her daily life and concerns.<\/p>\n
\nRad Music International\u2019s<\/a> <\/strong>aim is to support refugees and to fight for human rights and basic values regarding the lives of refugees and asylum seekers on the island of Lesvos.
\nThe main GOALS of RAD Music International:
\n1. Promote human rights and human dignity.
\n2. Connect people from different cultures and countries through collective music and dance processes with the aim of creative intercultural interaction.
\n3. Support refugees with psycho-social and educational activities. Educational activities include language classes and teaching of skills relevant to job seeking.
\n4. Bring back joy, celebrate diversity and our shared humanity with music and dance.
\n5. Support integration processes of refugees into the European society whilst honoring people\u2019s cultures and heritage.<\/p>\n
\n“EQUAL_GEN: Young men and women for gender equality” is implemented in the framework of the Active citizens fund Greece program with the coordinator Diotima Center<\/a>, and partners Anasa Cultural Center and Emantes – International Lgbtqia+ Solidarity<\/a>.
\nThe Active citizens fund program, amounting to \u20ac13.5 million, is financed by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway and is part of the financial mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEA) for the period 2014 \u2013 2021, known as EEA Grants. The program aims to strengthen and strengthen the sustainability of civil society and to highlight its role in promoting democratic processes, strengthening citizens’ participation in society and defending human rights. The management of the grant of the Active citizens fund program for Greece has been jointly undertaken by the Bodosaki Foundation and SolidarityNow.<\/em><\/p>\n
