creation of the <strong><em>Department of Black studies, Arts &amp; histories<\/em><\/strong> and is pleased to invite you to join us to the new events and get-togethers.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of the department <em>Black studies, Arts &amp; histories<\/em>, is to highlight the richness and diversity of the visual arts made by black artists, either from Africa or the black diaspora, from the period of modernism to contemporary art. One of the central goals of this department is to create a centre for discussions, meetings and think tanks on a variety of cultural issues arising from black studies, art and its histories. This project is inspired by and gets constant feedback from current approaches to the field of art history in the context of interdisciplinary debates on decolonization, feminist and queer studies, reframing and revisiting the western canon of art history.
